Care

1. Daily Cleaning

  • Hand Wash Only: Do not put this bottle in the dishwasher. Dishwasher cycles and high-temperature water (above 140°F / 60°C) will permanently warp and melt the PET plastic body.
  • Soap and Water: Wash all parts with lukewarm water and a mild, unscented dish soap.
  • Use a Bottle Brush: Use a soft-bristled bottle brush to reach the bottom of the water and food compartments. Avoid abrasive sponges, which will scratch the clear PET plastic and create micro-crevices where bacteria can hide.

2. Deep Cleaning & Sanitizing (Weekly)

Since it holds both kibble and water, the compartments can develop odors or residue over time.

  • Vinegar Soak: Fill the compartments with a mixture of 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts lukewarm water. Let it sit for 15–20 minutes to naturally disinfect and neutralize kibble odors.
  • Target the Seals: Disassemble any removable silicone rings (if applicable) and scrub them gently. Mold and bacteria love to hide in the rubber grooves where the two compartments screw together.

3. Drying and Storage

  • Air Dry Completely: Never reassemble or store the bottle while the inside is still damp. Moisture trapped in the food compartment will cause dry kibble to spoil or mold.
  • Store Open: When not traveling, store the bottle with the cap loosely attached or completely off to allow airflow.
