August is the one month where Singapore's pet calendar genuinely competes with the National Day fireworks for your attention. Twenty-two events, four weekends, and (if you're not careful) a very overstimulated dog by the third one. We've been through every listing, checked every date against the organiser's own calendar (a few widely-shared "August" events actually happened back in June and July, more on that as we go), and built this into something you can actually plan around instead of just scroll past.

This isn't a copy-paste of every flyer we found. Each event below comes with an honest read on who it's actually for, because a nervous rescue dog and a crowd-loving Golden Retriever should not be going to the same three events this month.

Four halls, 300+ exhibitors, 800+ brands. The headline for 2026 is Cesar Millan's Singapore debut, running alongside the 8th TICA Cat Show (27 cats and kittens up for adoption on 1 Aug) and the National Dog Obedience Competition.

Here's what most listicles won't tell you: this event gets genuinely difficult to move through by 2pm on the Saturday. Hall D, tucked in Basement 2, is where the cat and small-animal crowd ends up — it's noticeably calmer than Halls A–C, so if your dog runs hot in crowds, do the loud halls first while you both still have patience, then decompress in Hall D. If you're chasing the Cesar Millan slots specifically, those will be the first thing to sell out — don't leave it to the day of.

Whatever leash setup you're using, this is a three-hour-plus, stop-start crawl through dense foot traffic — not a walk. A hands-free leash is genuinely more useful here than a standard lead, since you'll be juggling a tote bag, a phone for photos, and possibly a lucky-draw ticket at the same time your dog decides to investigate someone's ankles.

2. PETS FUNIVAL — Furry Fun & Games

A neighbourhood-scale carnival built around a Best-Dressed Pet Contest and a Dog & Human Dash, with the first 30 contest registrants getting a free professional pet photoshoot.

This is a void deck carnival, not a festival — don't expect the scale of the bigger names on this list, and that's exactly the appeal. Thirty photoshoot slots go fast, so register online the moment sign-ups open rather than showing up and hoping. If your dog is more "chase-the-ball-in-a-carpark" than "tolerate-a-crowded-hall," this is a much better fit than the National Stadium or MBS entries.

3. For the Luv of SG Paws

A community gathering with local pet brands, influencers, and a National Day Pet Group Photo.

KADA — the repurposed hospital building near Maxwell MRT — was already a pet-friendly hangout before this event existed, so this slots in naturally if you're already planning a café afternoon in the area. The group photo is the actual draw here; get there before 5pm if you want your dog in a decent spot in frame rather than at the back of a growing crowd.

4. Design Orchard Open House — Homegrown Edition

Local fashion, food and lifestyle brands, plus markets, thrift swaps, workshops and family activities.

Not a pet event by design, but pet-friendly in practice — a good option if you'd rather fold a dog walk into a shopping trip than attend something built specifically for pets. Orchard Road weekend foot traffic is genuinely heavy, so this is one for a leash-confident dog that isn't easily rattled by strangers reaching down to say hi uninvited. 5. The Southern Market

A community craft-and-lifestyle market at The Southern Depot, a cycling and craft-focused community space. Its first edition earlier in 2026 pulled a solid crowd of local vendors, and this looks to be a repeat with more polish.

Malan Road is a genuinely quieter pocket of Singapore compared to almost everything else on this list — no MRT crowds spilling out, no tourist foot traffic. If your ideal outing is a slow browse rather than a full day of programming, and your weekends are already spoken for by the bigger events, this is the one to slot in on a quieter weekday since it runs across more than a week.

6. K9 EmPAWer Walk 2026

Admission: S$60 per pax

A charity community walk supporting future Assistance Dog teams, with a scenic East Coast route and light fringe activities.

This is a two-hour walk with a cause, not a festival with booths — go in with that expectation and it's a genuinely rewarding morning. It suits a sociable, leash-trained dog that's comfortable moving alongside other dogs for an extended stretch rather than stopping every few metres. For a walk this long, a hands-free leash setup will save your shoulder, and given East Coast Park has almost no shade along this stretch, the early start matters more than it sounds — don't push this back to a "we'll catch up" 9.30am arrival.

7. Sentosa GrillFest 2026

Admission: Free entry (F&B paid separately)

Not a pet event by design, but explicitly pet-friendly — the 9th edition brings 40+ food stalls across five zones (Local Grills, International Grills, Beachside Grills, a new omakase-style Chef's Grill, and a Marketplace), plus a Sunset Lounge by Asahi with DJ sets and live bands.

This is, honestly, our pick for the best "date night with your dog" event on the whole list — beachfront, evening timing that dodges the day's heat, and free entry. The catch is sand plus 40 stalls of grilled food at nose height, which is a genuinely tough combination for a food-driven dog you can't reliably redirect. If that's your dog, this is where a solid harness earns its keep over a collar — you want real control, not just a tug on the neck, in a space this food-dense. 8. PAWTY HOUR — National Day Weekend Festival

The Pawsport stamp rally is the actual reason to prioritise this one over a generic market — it gives your dog a job (moving from booth to booth) instead of standing around while you browse, which keeps most dogs noticeably calmer than an aimless wander. National Day weekend crowds build fast here, so arrive for opening if the goodie bags matter to you.

9. Pet Puja 2026

A blessing ceremony for pets (or plushies), with pre-ceremony activities and refreshments.

Genuinely the most distinct entry on this entire calendar — there's no vendor-booth energy here at all, just a quieter, more reflective gathering. If you've been to enough retail-driven pet markets this year and want something with a different tone entirely, this is it. Register ahead since capacity is limited, and set expectations for a calmer, more solemn atmosphere than "festival."

10. Singapaw — Singapore Specials & Friends Meet Up

A community gathering for Singapore Specials (and all breeds), with pet-friendly vendors, sampling stations, and goodie bags.

If you own or are considering adopting a Singapore Special, this is the one event this month built specifically around that community rather than around shopping. It's also simply a good CBD after-work outing regardless of breed — low effort, evening timing, and a built-in reason to strike up conversation with other pawrents.

11. Kampung Elektrik

A heritage-meets-modern street festival spread across multiple East Coast Road venues — 30+ local indie brands, live music, craft workshops, and a "Pasar Royong / Kampung Stage" line-up celebrating Katong's kampung roots.

Because this is spread across several separate venues rather than packed into one hall, it behaves more like a neighbourhood you're exploring than an event you're funnelled through — genuinely one of the more comfortable options this month for a dog that dislikes tight indoor crowds. Running across four days also means you have a real choice: go on the Thursday or Friday for a much calmer walk-through than the National Day Saturday crowd.

12. Marymount Furkids Fiesta

A responsible pet ownership carnival in a well-known dog-friendly park.

Early morning plus a park most Singapore dogs already know well makes this the gentlest entry on the whole calendar — the one we'd actually recommend for a nervous or reactive dog over any of the bigger-name expos. It leans educational rather than retail, so go in expecting talks and demonstrations on responsible ownership more than shopping.

13. Decathlon Sports Fest

A pet-friendly edition of Decathlon's sports community event.

Not a pet event at heart, but relevant if your dog is genuinely your regular running or hiking partner rather than a homebody — expect gear demos and sports trial zones over vendor booths. This one's for the athletic pawrent-pet pair, not the shopping trip.

14. Gillman Gatherings 2026

The calmest, most "adult" pick on this list — a well-behaved, low-energy dog will do far better here than a bouncy young one, simply because you're moving through gallery spaces rather than open ground. Not every gallery on site allows pets indoors, so confirm which ones do before you commit to a full loop.

15. Nee Soon Pets Fiesta 2026 — Pet Walkathon

A community walk with snacks along the route.

Late-afternoon-into-evening timing is deliberately kinder here than the mid-morning slot most walkathons default to — much easier on paw pads and panting on a hot day. A solid pick for North and North-East residents who'd rather do a nature-adjacent walk than fight crowds at an urban street festival. Same logic as the K9 EmPAWer Walk applies for gear: a longer route is a good excuse to test out a properly sized leash length rather than the short lead you use for quick neighbourhood loops.

16. Singapore Night Festival 2026 — Myths and Legends

Admission: Free for most programmes (some ticketed)

Light installations, projections, performances and interactive art across four themed zones — mostly outdoors.

Pets are welcome outdoors but not inside buildings or museums, so this works best for a genuinely crowd-confident dog that can handle night crowds, sudden lighting changes, and occasionally loud AV moments without spiralling. If your dog startles at sudden noise or light, this is one to skip or attend very early before the evening programming ramps up — a visible LED leash is genuinely practical here too, given how dark some of the installation zones get relative to your dog.

17. Paya Lebar Makers' Market

A pet-friendly makers' market outside PLQ Mall.

The appeal here is entirely practical: outdoor, open-air, and right next to a mall means easy access to shelter, water and washrooms if your pet needs a break mid-visit. Not a headline destination, but a genuinely low-friction one for East-side pawrents who want a casual outing without planning around it.

18. Good Pet Fair — Kampong Edition

Admission: Free

A large, free pet fair with local and international brands, exclusive promos, games and community activities. Special segments include a Sheltie Gathering (attempting a Singapore Book of Records entry on 23 Aug), a Paws Around The Kallang guided tour, and dedicated Fish, Critter and Feather Zones with live demos. There's also a pet-friendly movie night under the stars.

This is genuinely the closest thing to a free version of SG Pet Festival — comparable scale, zero entry fee. If you own a Sheltie, the record-attempt gathering is a rare, breed-specific moment worth building your whole weekend around rather than treating as a side activity. The movie night is the one thing on this entire calendar you won't find replicated anywhere else this month — check the exact night and bring a mat rather than relying on standing room.

19. Paws & Prepare

The Star Vista has run pet marketplace pop-ups here before, with photo spots, DIY workshops and glamping-style setups in past editions — expect a similar format of curated vendor booths and hands-on activities.

Star Vista's atrium format is consistently less crowded than the MBS or National Stadium-scale expos, which makes it a nice "in-between" option — bigger than a neighbourhood carnival, smaller than a full festival, and easier on a dog that gets overwhelmed by scale but still wants some stimulation. Worth checking closer to the date for confirmed workshop timings before you plan a visit around a specific activity.

20. Walk for Our Children ft. RBC Race for The Kids

A 2km Fun Walk or 5km Challenge Run for Singapore Children's Society; pets welcome throughout.

If your dog can genuinely cover distance rather than a leisurely amble, the 5km option is one of the only true "exercise" events on this entire list rather than a shopping or browsing one. The early start beats Sentosa's daytime heat, but also matters practically — get to registration well before 7am given the island's parking and shuttle logistics on an event morning.

21. GREEN-HOUSE Festival (Sustainable Brands)

A sustainability-and-lifestyle festival rather than a pet-specific one — a good pick for eco-conscious pawrents wanting to pick up sustainable pet products alongside general lifestyle shopping. Shophouse venues tend to have limited space, so expect a more intimate crowd than an expo hall.

22. Village Encounters @ Holland Village

PLAY/CONNECT/VIBE zones with wellness activities, pet-friendly experiences, interactive games, local workshops and live music.

Holland Village is genuinely one of the more walkable, pet-accustomed neighbourhoods in Singapore, which makes this a comfortable way to close out the month — an evening stroll with your dog rather than a full-day commitment. Check which zones specifically flag as pet-friendly, since not every workshop activity will accommodate pets.

Final Advice

• Pick 3–4, not all 22. This calendar is dense on purpose — cherry-pick based on your pet's temperament, not on how many you can physically fit into a month.
• Big expos reward arriving early. Crowds, heat, and queue length all compound after midday at SG Pet Festival and Good Pet Fair specifically.
• Match the event to your pet's personality, not yours. A reactive or noise-sensitive pet will genuinely do better at Marymount Furkids Fiesta or Gillman Gatherings than at Singapore Night Festival or SG Pet Festival — this isn't a compromise, it's the right call.
• Bring water, a collapsible bowl, and poop bags regardless of venue. Even the "indoor" events on this list involve a lot of walking between halls or outdoor precincts. A poop bag holder clipped to your leash beats digging through a tote bag mid-walk.
• Check registration requirements before you go. K9 EmPAWer Walk, Pet Puja, and Nee Soon Pet Walkathon all require sign-up in advance — these are not walk-in events.
• Know where the nearest vet is, not just the nearest food stall. For any event with this much foot traffic and this many unfamiliar dogs in one place, it's worth knowing your nearest emergency pet hospital before you need it, not after.
• Double-check dates closer to the day. Community and pop-up events are the most likely to shift; the large ticketed expos (SG Pet Festival, Good Pet Fair) are the most reliably fixed.
